Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Algenius ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Software.
2. Description of Service
Algenius is a desktop application that provides automatic daily activity logging, along with screenshot capture, editing, and sharing capabilities. The Software may include free and paid subscription tiers with varying features. AI-generated content is provided for assistance only and may not be accurate. Verify important information independently.
3. User Accounts
Some features of Algenius may require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Software to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Capture or share content you do not have the right to use
- Distribute malware or harmful content
- Interfere with or disrupt the Software or servers
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems
5. Intellectual Property
The Software and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Algenius and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
Paid features are offered on a subscription basis. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and you will continue to have access until the end of your billing period. Payments are processed by our payment provider. Their terms apply to payment transactions.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
8. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL ALGENIUS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Software. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Creator programme
These terms apply if you join the Algenius creator programme, or if you enter a creator code in the Algenius desktop app. The app runs on Windows and Linux. The programme page is algenius.app/creators.
Creators
You apply on the creators page. We review applications and can approve, refuse, pause, or end your place in the programme. You need a channel you control and a PayPal or Wise account we can pay. You must be allowed to promote software and to receive this kind of payment where you live.
You may not use your own creator code on your own Algenius account.
Commission
When commission is turned on for you, you earn a share of a viewer's first payment that is more than zero. The default share is 25%. We can set a different percent for a creator. The percent on that creator's record is the one that applies. The share is calculated on the amount after any discount and before tax. A free trial that charges nothing does not earn commission. Later renewals do not earn commission unless we have agreed that in writing for that creator.
New commission is held for 30 days from the payment before it can be paid. We pay when the amount we owe you reaches 20 US dollars. Payouts are in US dollars by PayPal or Wise. A person sends the payout. It is not an automatic transfer.
Refunds, chargebacks, and ending a creator account
If a payment is refunded or charged back, the commission on that payment is cancelled. If we already paid that commission, we subtract it from later payouts. We do not take it back from PayPal or Wise automatically. If later payouts do not cover it, the balance stays open until it is covered.
We can turn a code off, refuse new redemptions, or end a creator's place in the programme. Commission earned on a payment we keep is still paid, after the hold, the 20 US dollar minimum, and any refund or chargeback. If we end a place because of spam, fraud, or misleading claims, we can cancel unpaid commission that came from that conduct.
You are responsible for tax on commission you receive. We do not give tax advice. We do not withhold tax unless the law requires it.
How you may promote Algenius
Share your link and code in an honest way. Do not send spam or unwanted bulk messages. Do not buy fake clicks, fake accounts, or fake engagement. Do not claim a price, a feature, a refund, or a platform that we do not offer. The desktop app is for Windows and Linux. Do not present yourself as Algenius, or as an employee of Algenius, unless we have agreed that in writing.
Viewer codes
A viewer enters one creator code in the Account tab of the desktop app. We store that redemption on the viewer's Algenius account. An account can have one redemption. A second code does not replace the first.
A redemption can include free Pro time, a discount on the first payment, or both. Offers do not stack. If more than one offer could apply, we use the single best offer. If two offers are equal, the creator offer is the one we use.
We can withdraw a code, a discount, or free Pro for people who have not redeemed it yet. Free Pro time that is already on an account continues until the end date we set. A discount that has not been used yet can be removed before checkout.
Checkout for Pro is handled by Paddle. Paddle is the merchant of record for the payment. The payment record sent to Paddle includes the Algenius user id, the creator code, the creator id, and the redemption id when a creator code applies. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the payment.
Refunds
You can ask for a refund within 14 days of a charge. The 14 day Pro trial is separate. The trial itself is not a charge. Cancel before the trial ends if you do not want the first payment. Cancelling a subscription stops later charges. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancelling does not by itself refund that period.

The legal entity name, postal address, and governing law for Algenius are not published on this page yet. Write to contact@algenius.app until they are.
Privacy Policy
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as:
- Account information (email, name) when you create an account
- Screenshots and metadata when you use our sharing features
- Activity data when you use the daily activity logger feature (such as application usage and related metadata)
- Payment information when you subscribe to paid plans
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and improve the Software
- Process transactions and send related information
- Send technical notices and support messages
- Respond to your comments and questions
- Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
3. Data Storage and Security
Local Data: Activity logs are stored locally on your device by default. You have full control over this data and can delete it at any time.
Cloud Data: Screenshots you share are stored securely on our cloud servers using industry-standard encryption. You can delete shared screenshots at any time. Free-tier users may have shared content retained for a limited period. Pro users retain data according to their plan.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information:
- With service providers who assist in operating the Software (including cloud storage, payment processing, analytics, and error monitoring)
- When you uninstall, we record that the app was removed and, if you choose to answer, the reason you left. The Windows uninstaller opens a short survey; the Linux package removal sends only the uninstall event.
- When required by law or to protect our rights
- With your consent or at your direction
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Opt out of marketing communications
6. Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience and analyze usage. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
7. Children's Privacy
Algenius is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
8. International Users
If you are accessing the Software from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.

Creator programme
If you apply to be a creator, we collect your name, email address, channel link, the places you publish, audience size, payout method (PayPal or Wise), and payout email. We use this to review your application, contact you, and pay commission. Staff can read it. It is not published on the public website.
If you open a creator link on this website, we may record a click. The click record has the creator code, a random visitor id, the day, the page path, the host of the referring site, and whether the visit looked like Windows, Linux, or the Microsoft Store. When our host sends a two letter country code, we store that too. The visitor id lives in a cookie named alg_vid for one year so the same person and code are not counted twice on the same day. We do not store the creator code in a cookie. We use the IP address only to limit how often clicks can be posted, and we do not put the full IP address in the click record.
If you enter a creator code in the Account tab of the desktop app, we store one redemption on your Algenius account. That record can include free Pro time, a discount on the first payment, or both.
When you pay for Pro, Paddle is the merchant of record and the payment processor. Card and PayPal details are collected by Paddle. We do not store your full card number. The payment record we send to Paddle includes your Algenius user id. When a creator code applies, it also includes the creator code, the creator id, and the redemption id. It does not include your name or email in that record.
A creator sees totals for their own code: clicks, redemptions, paid conversions, refunds, commission, and how many trials are active right now. A creator does not see your name, your email address, your payment details, or a list of viewers. The statistics link is private. Please do not forward it.
We keep creator applications, redemptions, and commission records while we run the programme, and for as long as we need them to pay creators, handle refunds and chargebacks, and meet legal duties. We have not published a fixed number of years for these records. When we no longer need them, we delete them or remove the details that identify you. You can delete the visitor cookie in your browser at any time. It otherwise lasts one year.
